A Milwaukee Wisconsin native, Patrice Herbst has called the nearby artistic community of Cedarburg home for over 35 years. Her work has received enormous response and wins constant acclaim for its depth, richness and an innovative approach to materials.
Enjoying the challenge of being completely self-taught, Patrice has worked successfully in a wide range of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolor, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, and mixed media for over 35 years. During this time she has worked in figurative, realism, and abstract styles. Currently she is pursuing her interest in digital photography, focusing on that which is impermanent. This is evident in her recent work with bones. Patrice was listed in the "75 Women of Influence in the Visual Arts" by Visual Art Writer Mary Louise Schumacher in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She continues to exhibit her work in select shows, including the 2011 Wisconsin Artists Biennial where she was awarded for her unique digital image 'Journey' and the upcoming 'Forward 2012: A Survey of Wisconsin Art Now at the Charles Allis Art Museum, Milwaukee.

"For me, art is a rich and passionate love affair, an obsession.
It can consume and frustrate, sooth and console.
A voice from somewhere deep inside, it is the place where private thought and intense emotion are allowed free reign,
and imagination knows no boundaries."

-Patrice Herbst
