Patrice Herbst Fine Art

Photography
as seen through the eyes of a painter.

I've always loved photgraphy, buying my first Canon camera in 1982. Much like my oil paintings, I'm drawn to the nature of chiaroscuro, or extreme darks and lights in my photography as well. Some photos are simply about the lushness of color while others state the beautiful subtleties of earth tones, sepias and grays. The structure of deep contrast within each image continues to be my primary catalyst when focusing my lens.
